A quick, local overnighter

It is great to see the love of bikepacking in cyclists, even greater to show people what bikepacking really is. I am guilty of always going with the same people, so it is nice to get other people in the bikepacking world. When my (then, future)brother-in-law got excited about my upcoming bachelor bikepacking party, he wanted to get some bikepacking practice.

So we headed out from the house to the Tortolitas....

Being outside always calms your nerves, spoils your mind.

It was a good time to test out some new equipment. Check out that coffee maker!

The Black Diamond Mega Light is a great option for those looking for both a backpacking and bikepacking tent. I have had it for a year and continue to enjoy it.

I picked this inflatable pillow up for $5 from an REI gear sale (hence the black x) and love it. It packs down to the size of a flip phone.

Just a few ideas of different gear. Almost everything I use for bikepacking doubles for car camping.

The next morning we rode some more, enjoying some of those newish trails in the Tortolitas....

As with any bikepacking trip, it is always made better with a burrito.
